Last day at work


Today is my last day at work. I have used my remaining holidays to take the rest of the month off, and then my contract officially ends at September 1st. By that time, I will already be in Dalian, China, to start my year as a language student in Liaoning Normal University.
It is a strange feeling to be spending my last day here at the office. I have finished all my work, documented all my activities, and passed on all my projects to my colleagues. Everything is done, and soon I will be turning in my key and laptop, and really be gone. I have worked here at INCAS3 for almost three years, so it will be strange to leave.

Not have the daily commute to Assen any more, or meet with my colleagues, or see how the little deer (seven this year!) in the park next to our building grow up.
However, I do not think I will have much time to muse on this in the time to come. I expect the next two weeks to be quite busy with final preparations, saying goodbye to people, and wondering about what Dalian will be like. I will just regard it as a two week holiday-cum-preparation period, after which I start my next big project: Project Learn Chinese. Still, I will miss Assen and INCAS3.
